Hi, I’m Amanda. I love upcycling vintage furniture. Most is really well made from solid wood with dovetail joints and attention to detail.
I realise that some people don’t want an old brown sideboard or chest of drawers, and many older items are just viewed as old fashioned. These items hold so much potential – with a lot of work to renew and reinvigorate them, they can be enjoyed for many years to come.
I love seeing the finished result of a transformation process – it makes all the work so worthwhile. And I love that these items bring joy to the owners of the homes that they end up in. And of course it’s a massive bonus that these pieces were built to last and do not end up going to waste. And I have no doubt that they will last much longer than any modern mdf flat pack furniture.
